Mountain Bike

In the previous article, we introduced the three structures of the front, the frame, and the seat. Let’s introduce the other components of a qualified mountain bike.
1.Variable speed system
The variable speed system is generally composed of two parts: transmission parts and shift parts. One is responsible for transmitting your power to the wheels, and the other is responsible for adjusting the speed of the wheels.
2.Suspension system
The suspension system is to slow down the impact of the collision, and there is a distinction between a softtail and a hardtail (Hardtail: a suspension fork, no rear shock; Softtail: that is, a full-suspension model, with front and rear suspension.) The suspension logic of hardtails and softtails is that they contract when they are hit, absorbing the impact. The suspension logic of both hardtail and softtail is to contract and absorb the impact when it is hit. Of course, it can absorb the impact force, but also the force of your pedaling. Compared with the hardtail, the design and composition of the softtail will be more complicated than the hardtail, and the design cost will go up, so the car with the softtail is usually much more expensive than the hardtail. The suspension method of the hardtail is mainly the compression of the front fork, and the softtail also has.
3.Braking System
The braking system consists of brakes, brake levers, and brake lines. There are generally two types of brake systems, disc brakes and V brakes. Disc brakes are divided into two types, mechanical disc brakes and hydraulic disc brakes. The price of V brakes is relatively low, while disc brakes are relatively high.
4.Wheels
There are three common wheels: 29 (also known as 29er), 27.5 (also known as 650b), and 26. The earliest wheels were 26, and later some companies developed 27.5 or even larger. These are all referring to the diameter of the wheel. The better choice is to look at the use and preference. The smaller the wheel, the more flexible the handling; the faster the start, the lighter the weight; the larger the wheel, the easier the cruise and better grip. The tires can also be mentioned in the wheel, and the tires are a particular thing. There are many choices of materials, patterns and sizes. If you have more off-road, choose 29; the rest choose 27.5, 26 is less on the market now, you can choose if you encounter it.
Through these two articles, I believe that readers have a basic understanding of the composition of mountain bikes. If you want to have a more in-depth understanding, you need to know it after personal experience. Thank you for reading!
